In the posterior compartment of the knee.

Stabilise the postermedial and posterolateral knee joint.

Biceps femoris. Long and short head.
Which muscles is most superficial?
Semitendinosus and biceps femoris long head.
Which muscles are deep?

What is the origin for semimembranosus?
Ischial tuberosity
What is the insertion of semi membranosus
Medial tibial condyle
What is the origin of semitendinosus
Ischial tuberosity
What is the insertion for semitendinosus ?
Medial surface of proximal tibia
What is the origin for biceps femoris short head?
The lateral lip of the linea aspera.
What is the origin for the biceps femoris long head?
Ischial tuberosity
What is the insertion for both heads of the biceps femoris?
Head of the fibula

Hip extension.
