Describe flexi-time
Employees can vary starting and finishing times as long as they complete a minimum number of bourse per month
Describe teleworking
Employee works away from office- usually on the go- and uses technology like a PDA to keep in touch with office
Describe job sharing
A full time job is shared between two employees on a part time basis
Describe home working
Employees can work from home and use technology like a laptop to communicate with office regularly.
Describe hot desking
When a desk is booked of a small amount of time
Describe full time and part time
- Someone will usually work 35/49 hours, 5 days a week
2. Any number of hours less than full time, could be 3 full days or 5 half days
Describe a contract of employment
Issued when someone starts to work at organisation and states terms and conditions
What is permanent term
Contract has no end date and employee will be employed until they quit are fired or as long as the job exists
What is temporary term
Contract has no end date but employee know that the job will end and is usually used at Christmas time
Fixed term?
Contacts that concert a specific period of time and employee will know when the job end
Advantages to organisation
Reduction in absences and increased job performance
Advantages to employee
Improved balance between work and life and reduction in stress
Disadvantages to organisations?
Cost of equipment and sometimes difficult to monitor
Disadvantages to employees?
Can miss info or meetings if only working certain amount of days and the feeling of isolation that comes from homeworking/teleworking
