What is a performance goal?
Based on how you want to perform in a game eg footy
What is an outcome goal?
Focuses on the end result eg I want to win
What does smart stand for ?
Specific - specific to the sport
Measurable - measuring it
Accepted - target is accepted by coach and athlete
Realistic - make sure it isn’t too much
Time bound - period of time you set it over
Why would you set a SMART target ?
To improve yourself at a sport that will improve performance
What are the 4 stages of the information processing model?
Input - senses, display
Decision making - based of past experiences
Output - outcome of decision making
Feedback - intrinsically or extrinsically
What is mechanical guidance ?
Coach using equipment to show you what to do eg hoist assisting with a backflip on a trampoline
What is manual guidance?
Coach physically moving someone to show them what to do eg put you in a position to tackle in rugby
What is verbal guidance?
Coach telling you how to do something eg coach telling you how to shoot a basketball hoop
What is visual guidance ?
Coach demonstrating what to do eg showing a video
What is extrinsic feedback ?
Feedback from teammates and coaches (good for beginners)
What is intrinsic feedback?
Feedback from yourself (good for experts)
What is positive feedback?
Positive feedback (beginners and experts )
What is negative feedback ?
Negative feedback (experts)
What is knowledge of results?
Judging someone based on results (expert)
What is knowledge of performance?
Judging someone based on performance ( beginners)
What is indirect aggression?
Aggression towards sport
What is direct aggression?
Aggression towards certain player

Shy
