Decay. When plants and animals die, Thy break down, which releases carbon back into the air.

Carbon dioxide in the air makes the earth warmer because it traps heat like a blanket. Climate change may be affected by carbon dioxide as we burn things like gas coal and oil for energy. When there is too much c 02 , the earth gets hotter, Ice melts so oceans rise.,

Sequestration means storing something for a long time. For carbon, it means keeping co2 out of the air.
-Plants take co2 out of the air and store it in their leaves, stems and roots.
-When plants break down in the soil, the carbon can stay there for a long time.

Trees take in Co 2 when they’re cut down, less Co2 is removed from the air.
