What is a flames test?

Answer 5

1. Dip a wire loop in Hydrochloric Acid and then rinse it in distilled water, in order to make sure the wire loop is sterile.
2. Dip the sterile wire loop into the sample of the compound.
3. Then put the wire loop, with the compound on, in the hottest part of the flame.
4. A coloured flame will be produced.
