What is the purpose of the use of the flags framework?
A
- System used to assess various factors that may impact a patient’s recovery & qu’iode clinical decision-making
- Classify potential barriers to rehab and recovery
- Based on biopsychosical factors

What are red flags? + E.g
A
- Highest warning level
- Indicate a pathology needing further medical examination
- Indicate a possible serious health problems -> investigation
E.g : Infections, fractures, malignancy, compression of SC or Cauda equina

How should red flags be communicate?
A
- Rationale -> Avoid wrong diagionisis/false alarm/worry
- Clear and open
- Body language
- Ensure sufficient time for patient to consider their answers
- Provide reason for the questions

What is the use of the IFOMT Framework?
A
- Determine your level of concern (from Low to High)
- Decide on your clinical action (based on 1)
- Consider the pathway for emergency referral

Is an isolated red flags enough to be informative?
A
NO -> should be a combinations of red flags
Need subjective patients history, physical examination as well to determine the LoC

What does yellow flags means?
A
- Lower warning than red
- Identification of the existence of Risk of chronic inaction
- Have consequences for your own therapy design (e.g. add intervention)
- Does not change in the course of therapy
