What are the indications for crowns in general?
A
Poor/unacceptable aesthetics
- Unsatisfactory appearance/colour resistant to bleeching
- Full coverage with gold crown unacceptable
More conservative restorations lack strength/retention to protect remaining tooth structure
- Broken down tooth structure due to caries, fractures, RCT
- Correction of severe tooth wear
Limited correction of malocclusion

What are some specific indications for PBM’s?
A
- High stress situations (e.g. bruxism)
- Atypical preparations: mutilated/fractured teeth, deep overbite
- Retainers for fixed bridges
