What are the indications for crowns in general?

A

Poor/unacceptable aesthetics

  • Unsatisfactory appearance/colour resistant to bleeching
  • Full coverage with gold crown unacceptable

More conservative restorations lack strength/retention to protect remaining tooth structure

  • Broken down tooth structure due to caries, fractures, RCT
  • Correction of severe tooth wear

Limited correction of malocclusion
