what is fitness to practice
Fitness to practice: A pharmacy professional is ‘fit to practise’ when they have the skills, knowledge, character and health necessary to do their job safely and effectively, and when they act professionally and meet the principles of good practice set out in the GPhC’s various standards, guidance and advice.
What does gphc do?
Safety to patients and public and provide assurance that the will receive safe abd effective care when using the pharmacy services therefore pharmacy professionals have to :
* complete a fitness to practice declaration (annual),
* let gphc know within seven days if there is an issue which will effect the
fitness to practice.

What is interim order? (possible q)
- Once the gphc receives a concern or information comes to light during the process they will need to make an application to the ftpc for an interim order
This is an urgent action which can either suspend a pharmacy professional from practising or restrict their practice in some way by putting in place conditions for limited time
