Story purpose
3 ships carrying 143 men and boys left England in December 1606, in search of gold and a route to the Indies.
Results
5 months later. Ships landed at Virginia. Jamestown.
Swampy peninsula full of polluted water and infested by malaria mosquitoes.
London Co.wasted time looking for the route and gold
38 survived and next year others joined.

1620-Group that opposed rites of the Church of England and separated from the Puritans, decided to establish a colony. They borrowed money for fares

Left England September 1620, arrived at Plymouth November 1620. Clear of Natives.
