Gave him all her wealth so he could focus on more important things
Always there for Prophet
Prophet never married anyone else as long as she was alive
She died in 11th year of prophethood, due to the boycott of Banu Hashim, in the year of sorrow
He said “Noblest women of world are Mary and Khadija” ‎
Prophet said “Khadija’s love has been given to me by Allah“

Hz. Ayesha bint Abi Bakr

A

Daughter of Hz. Abu Bakr
Was 10 years old when she got married
Marriage was solemnized in 2 AH after attaining maturity
Once she was escorted home by a young man and rumours spread thus Allah revealed Surah Nur
Strongest bond with Prophet (pbuh) after Khadija
He said “Ayesha enjoys superiority over all other women”‎
Learnt a lot from him
Her house was his resting place
Imam Zuhri said “Ayesha was most learned person among people”‎
Would help the Khalifs in decision making
People followed her principles on Islamic Law
Made a system to co-ordinate Quran and Sunnah
Narrated 2210 Ahadith
Often freed slaves
Was 25 when Prophet (pbuh) passed away
Spent the rest of the years as a widow
Died in 58 AH

A

Daughter of Hz. Umar

Straight forward like her father
Custodian of the Quran called Mushuf-e-Hafsa

Eldest daughter of Prophet(pbuh)
Second child after Qasim
Born when Prophet(pbuh) was 30‎
Married to Abul Aas Bin Rabi
She accepted Islam but husband didn’t
Husband was taken captive in Battle of Badr
She sent her mother’s necklace as ransom
Freed on condition Zainab was sent to Madinah
Later her husband also joined them at Madinah
Was stabbed in 8 AH and died ‎
Had a son Ali (died in infancy) and a daughter Umama who was married to Hz. Ali

Imam Hassan bin Ali

A

Born to Hazrat Fatima on 1st Ramazan 3 AH
Holy Prophet named him Hassan
Taught by only grandparents and parents
Listened to the Holy Prophet reciting and memorized
Prophet (pbuh) said “O Allah I love him so I beseech You to love him”‎
8 years when Prophet (pbuh) passed away
Few months later, mother also passed away
Followed his fathers example
Took part in all battles
Gave food to Hazrat Usman when he was besieged ‎
In charge of Bait-ul-Maal during Hazrat Ali’s reign
Took over as Khalifa after Hazrat Ali
Muawiya, governor of Syria, moved forces against him
He did not want any fights
Desertions to Muawiya’s side made him weaker
Renounced as Khalifa
Poisoned by his own wife Joda bint Ashs in 50 AH because of a reward by Muawiya
Buried in Jannat-ul-Baqi

Imam Hussain bin Ali

A

Born to Hazrat Fatima on 4th Shaban 4 AH
Mother fell ill after birth
Prophet (pbuh) was out on expedition at time of birth
Resembled Prophet(pbuh)‎
Said “Hussain belongs to me and I belong to him”‎
On deathbed, Iman Hassan handed over charge of Imammat to Imam Hussain
Became 3rd Imam
In 60 AH, Muawiya’s son Yazid became Khalifa
Imam Hussain refused to take oath of allegiance
People from Kufa asked his help against Yazid
Sent cousin Muslim to assess the situation
Killed after confirming Hussain that he can come
He had left and decided to not return
Stopped at Karbala
On 10th Muharram he was martyred and his head was presented to Yazid

First free adult male to accept Islam

Hz. Umar Farooq

A

Opposed Islam ‎
One day he was going to kill Prophet(pbuh)‎
On way a man told him about his sister’s conversion so he went there and started to beat her
prophet(pbuh) once prayed, “O Allah strengthen Islam with Umar or Abu Jahl, whomsoever you like”
Listened to Surah Talha and accepted Islam
Hot-tempered and straight forward
Muslims became stronger after his conversion
Openly migrated to Yasrib
Had many children, 1 of which was Hafsa, who married the prophet(pbuh)
Opposed Treaty of Hudaibiya but repented ‎
Gave half of his wealth during Tabuk ‎Expedition
Prophet(pbuh) said “If there were a prophet to come after me he would have been Umar”‎
Known as Al Farooq (the one who differentiates between wrong and right)

Hz. Uthman Ghani

A

Close friend of Hz. Abu Bakr
After learning about prophet(pbuh)’s declared mission, Abu Bakr persuaded Usman and he became Muslim
First Umayyad to become Muslims
His uncle made him lie on burning coals and tied him to palm leaves set on fire
Married Ruqayya,daughter of prophet(pbuh), and migrated to Abyssinia ‎
Provided food to Banu Hashim during boycott
Ruqayya died and married Umm-e-Kulsoom, another daughter of the prophet(pbuh)
So known as Zun Nurrain ‘Possessor of 2 lights’‎ as he was married to 2 daughters of the prophet(pbuh)
Went to negotiate during Treaty of Hudaibiya ‎
Gave 100 horses,900 camels and 1000 gold dinars during Tabuk Expedition
Bought 20,000 dinar well for Muslims
Funded extension of Mosque of Prophet(pbuh)‎
Known as Ghani (means extremely generous)
Prophet(pbuh) said “my companion in Paradise will be Usman.”‎

Migrated to Abyssinia where he was spokesperson for Muslims
Recited verses of Surah Maryam to King Negus which made the king cry.
Returned in 7 AH
Went to Mutah where he was martyred with 90 wounds in his front and arms cut
Known as Jaffar Tayyar because he will get 2 wings in Afterlife.
Prophet(pbuh) said “You resemble me in features and manners”‎

Hz. Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib

A

Uncle, foster brother of Prophet(pbuh)‎
Loved wrestling, hunting and archery that he never paid attention to Islam
He was returning from hunting, a man told him how Abu Jahl abused Prophet(pbuh)‎
He struck Abu Jahl and accepted Islam
At Badr he killed Abu Sufyan’s wife Hinda’s father
At Uhad Hinda’s slave, Wahshi, killed him and his body was given to her. She chewed on his liver
Wahshi later accepted Islam. The prophet said, “You are forgiven, but stay out of my sight, as you remind me of my uncle, Hamza.
Prophet(pbuh) called him ‘Chief of Martyrs”‎

Hz. Bilal bin Rabah

A

An Abyssinian slave
Was one of first 7 converts
Umayyah, his master, used to torture him
Abu Bakr freed him
Gave first azan of Islam and on Kabah Thus called Muezzin e Islam
Killed Umayyah, his former master, at Battle of Badr
Gave azan on request of Caliph Umar first time after Prophet(pbuh)’s death
Was so upset that he went to Syria
Died in Syria at age of 60‎

A

Uncle of Prophet(pbuh)‎
Father of Hz. Ali and Jaffar Tayyar
Took care of him like his own sons
Did not accept Islam but protected Prophet(pbuh)‎
Died in 11th year of Prophethood, due to the boycott of Banu Hashim, in the year of sorrow
Prophet used to pray for him, but Allah stopped the prophet(pbuh)

Chief of Banu Umayyad
Father of Umm-e-Habiba, muawiya, and father in law of the Prophet
Biggest enemy of Islam
Led the enemy in many battles
Told Heraclius many good qualities about the prophet(pbuh) even when he wasn’t a muslim
Was caught spying during Conquest of Makkah
He accepted Islam in Conquest of Makkah
Lost an eye during siege of Taif
Fought alongside the Muslims in Battle of Hunain and supplied resources to them.

Ansar & Muhajireens

A

Emigrants or Muhajir were the people who came to Madinah leaving all their valuables
Prophet(pbuh) is not a Muhajir ‎
Quran says “Those who suffered exile and fought in path of Allah, they have hope of mercy of Allah”‎
Ansar’s are the locals of Madinah who gave the place to live to Muhajirs
Prophet(pbuh) declared 45 Muhajir and 45 Ansar’s as brothers
He closely examined them and chose a Muhajir for and Ansar
The ansar was to help muhajirs by taking them in ‎

Amina bint Wahab

A

She was the daughter of Wahab
Married to Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib
Gave birth to Muhammad(pbuh) days after the death of Abdullah
She gave the prophet(pbuh) the name ‘Ahmad’
She gave the prophet(pbuh) away for care to Halima Sadia so that he could learn the Arabic tradition
Visited Yathrib with the prophet(pbuh) when he was 6 to see the grave of her husband, Abdullah.
On the way back, she died due to very high fever. She was buried in Al-Abwa.

Halima Sadia

A

She was an Arab Beduin woman.
Married to Haris
She was the foster mother of the prophet(pbuh)
Signs came to Halima of her life-changing after she took the prophet in
Her camel used to overflow with milk, while other camels didn’t come with milk.
Halima knew that these signs were because of the prophet(pbuh)
She returned the prophet(pbuh) for 2 years. Due to a spreading disease.
One day, the prophet(pbuh) was playing with his foster brothers when 2 angels came to him, laid him down, and opened his chest, they picked out a blood clot until it was purified and put it back, stitched his chest, and vanished. The foster brothers ran to Halima and said, “Muhammad has been murdered” Halima quickly ran outside only to see the prophet(pbuh) standing fine. She quickly examined his body and took him into the house, after this incident, she got scared
Years after Muhammad’s mother died and he got married to Khadijah, Halimah came to him
complaining of her poverty. He asked Khadijah to give her 40 sheep. After Muhammad got his first
revelation, Halimah and her husband came to the Islamic prophet and embraced Islam. When she
came to Muhammad on the day of Hunayn, he took off his robe and put it on the ground for her to
sit. She died in 8 A.H. and her grave lies in JannatulBaqi, Madinah. The Prophet (pbuh) was known to
call Halima ‘my mother’.
