FDR’s foreign policy for the post-war world

  • the best way to prevent war in the future was to have a world based on free trade and equal access to raw materials
  • create increased economic prosperity
  • increased interdependence between countries
  • less likely to go to war as they are reliant on other countries for certain goods and resources
  • Stalin felt the US would be a dominant economic power
