What is critical incident stress?
A common reaction to a stressful emergency situation.
What is shock?
A circulation problem where the body’s tissues do not get enough oxygenated blood.
What is RICE stand for?

What is concussion?
A temporary disturbance of brain function usually caused by a blow to the head or neck.
What is compression?
A condition of excess pressure on some part of the brain.
What is a flail chest?
A flail chest occurs when several ribs in the same area are broken in more than one place.
What is Pneumothorax?
A serious complication of a chest injury that requires immediate medical help.
What is a splint?
Any material used to prevent fractured bones from moving unnecessarily.
What are the three requirements for a good split?
- Rigid enough to support the injured limb.
- Well-padded for support and comfort
- Long enough
What is position of function?
The position the uninsured hand naturally takes- palm down and fingers slightly curled.
Four signs and symptoms of strains.
- Sudden sharo pain in the strained muscle
- Swelling of the muscles causing severe cramps.
- Bruising and muscle stiffness
- Casualty may not be able to use the affected body part
What is diabetes?
- A condition in which there is either not enough insulin in the blood
- Or there is enough insulin but the cells cannot use the insulin properly.

How to tell the difference between heat exhaustion and heatstroke?
By condition of the skin
In heat exhaustion, skin is moist and cold
In heatstroke, skin is hot, flushed and may be dry or wet
What is a seizure?
Caused by abnormal crical activity in the brain.
What is a convulsion?
An abnormal muscle muscle contraction, or series of muscle contractions, that the person cannot control.
What is an epilepsy?
A disorder of the nervous system characterized by seizures.

Steps:

EME
S-Stimulate. Shake, shout, and activate EMS
A-Airway. Open the airway
V-Ventilate. Deliver one breath every 5 seconds ensuring the chest rises
E-Evaluate. Are these steps helping?
M-Medication. Prepare and deliver a dose of Naldo one if available and you are trained.
E-Evaluate. Did the naloxone help? You should see improvement within 2-3 minutes
What is contact dermatitis?
Irritation include redness, itching and blisters
