  2. Give 4 puffs of a blue inhaler (puffer). Give one puff at a time ensuring the person takes 4 breaths each puff.
  3. Wait 4 minutes. If there is no improvement repeat.
  4. If little or no improvement, call an ambulance and continue giving them 4 puffs.

  2. Dial 000 (Ambulance) and then dial 13 11 26 (poisons information line).
  3. Call NSW fire brigade if there is gas or smoke contamination.
  4. If poison was ingested, don’t induce vomiting or give anything by mouth.
  5. If poison was inhaled, get the casualty into fresher and loosen their clothing.
  6. If poison was absorbed, remove contaminated clothing and shower the casualty.

  2. Check for a response. If there is no response, go through the ABCD procedure.
  3. if the casualty is breathing, put them into recovery position. Don’t leave them alone. Give nothing to the casualty, not even water.
