External Bleeding
Key Points to control the bleeding
APPLY DIRECT PRESSURE IMMEDIATELY Cover the entire wound • Sufficient • Permanent
Nose Bleeding
- Help victim to sit down with head bent forward
- Ask victim to press on bleeding nostril for 10 minutes
- If bleeding does not stop, send victim to a doctor
for bleeding the reminders
• Always wear gloves / any form of isolation
• Wash hands immediately in case of any
contact with the patient’s blood
*Lay the patient down on the floor whenever
he has an external bleeding
Unconsciousness
Key Points for Airways opening
- The chin must be lifted
• The head must be tilted to the rear
Unconscious and breathing
Advantages of Recovery Position:
- Patient will not choke from secretions
- Airway will remain open
UNCONSCIOUS AND NOT BREATHING STEPS
1-IS THE VICTIM AWAKE? TALK TO HIM TO PRESS ON MY HAND
2- CHECK BREATHING TILT THE HEAD , LIFT THE CHIN AND LISTEN TO BREATHING NOT MORE THAN 10 SECONDES
3- CALL 140 ( LOCATION + NOT BREATHING AND UNCONSCIOUS)
4- CPR

Skin Injuries burns
- Blisters size is more than half the palm of the
hand
• Burn area is FACE , NECK ,JOINTS or NATURAL
ORFICES
• Change in skin color Ex: Black or white
• Skin is sloughed off
• Redness in skin in INFANTS
Burn Management
Cool the area with running Water Remove clothing if not stuck on the skin DON’T prick the blisters Consult medical care for medication Cover the effected area with a sterile Bandage
Skin Injuries (Wounds)
*Wash the effected area with water and soap if available *Use a wound antiseptic if available *Protect the wound with a clean bandage *Make sure the patient received his tetanus shot *Monitor the wound in the first 24 hours for any signs of infection
Skin Injuries (Stings)
*Remove the stinger using a card
*Remove all jewelries from the effected
area
*Place ice on the effected area
*Consult immediate medical care in case of
any allergic reaction
Skin Injuries (Snake Bite)
*Help the patient lay down on his back and regulate his breathing.This will lower his heart rate and prevent the spread of poison. *Do NOT try to suck the blood *Do NOT apply any herbs on the wound *Do NOT place a tourniquet

Don’t move the injured part
Stabilize the Injury
Apply ice to reduce swelling
If the injury is in the back , neck or head
DO NOT move the patient until EMS arrival
