Describe a lethal barrelled weapon
Barrelled weapon of any description from which a shot bullet or other missile with kinetic energy of more than one joule at the muzzle can be discharged
Describe what is meant by a prohibited weapon
Possession = absolute eg automatic weapons, self loading action weapons, barrel less than 30cm / overall length less than 60cm designed / adapted to discharge noxious liquid, gas etc, any grenade bomb or missile
Difference between a prohibited weapon and S1 firearms
Prohibited weapons more dangerous in terms of risk so carry a higher sentence; you can have section 1 firearms with a license
What is a section 1 firearm
All firearms except shotguns and conventional airways
What is section 1 ammunition
Any ammunition that has 5+ pellets for a firearms except shotgun, air rifle pellets or blank ammunition
Define possessing a s1 firearm or ammunition without a certificate
Either way 5 years
Have in their possession or to purchase or acquire a S1 firearm or ammunition unless authorised by a firearms certificate or exemption
When do air weapons become specially dangerous?
When kinetic energy is more than 6 feet pounds for air pistol and 12 feet pounds for air rifle disguised as another object
