- Treat every firearm as if it were loaded
- Control your muzzle at all times
- Keep your trigger finger off of the trigger and along side the frame until you are on target and have DECIDED to shoot.
- Be sure of your target and what lies beyond and around it.

- It is obtaining another sight picture - preparing to fire another round on target if necessary.
