FSCMs fall into two broad categories
Permissive. No further coordination is required for the engagement of targets affected by the measure. The primary purpose of permissive measures is to facilitate the attack of targets
Restrictive. Restrictive measure imposes certain requirements for specific coordination prior to the engagement of those targets affected by the measure. The primary purpose of restrictive measures is to provide safeguards for friendly forces.
