Two, one in the back of the cabin and one behind the co-pilot’s seat.
What occurs by pushing a fire shutoff button?
Closes respective side;
Fuel SOV
Bleed valves (PRSOVs)
Hyd SOV
Arms fire extinguisher discharging bottle.
Illuminates Shutoff 1 or 2 switch
How many fire-extinguishing bottles are on the airplane, and where are they located?
One, in the aft fuselage
When the fire detection system is tested on the Power Up checklist, what indications will confirm the system is working properly?
(3)
- Voice message: “FIRE”,
- CAS message: “ENG 1/2 FIRE”
- FIRE message in the ITT field and red light in the shutoff pushbutton

What is the electrical power source for the engine fire protection system?
Emergency bus
How many fire detection loops are installed in each engine compartment?
One
With regard to design, how does the loop detect an overheat or fire condition?
The loop is filled with helium gas which expands when heated. The detector unit at the end of the sensing loop contains a diaphragm which snaps over-center at a set actuation pressure, completing the electrical circuit to the warning devices.
What is the extinguishing agent in the engine fire bottle?
Halon 1301
• What is the cockpit indication that the engine fire bottle has been discharged?
ENG FIREX DISCH (CAS)
• What type of baggage compartment fire detection is installed?
Smoke detector installed in baggage compartment ceiling – two photoelectric sensors, both must detect smoke to generate warning.
