  1. Fard (an obligatory action; commandment from Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala)
  2. Wajib (second to fard. Must always be done)
  3. Sunnah (something that the Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, did, or encouraged)
  4. Nafl (a good act. Brings a reward but there is no sin if not done)
  5. Makruh (an act disliked by Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) and His Messenger (SallAllahu Alayhi Wasallam))
  6. Haram (forbidden by Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) and must be avoided)

A

Means substances that are unclean

What are the two forms or Najasah?

A

Najasah ghalizah: Heavy or severe forms
Najasah khafifah:lighter or lesser forms

When it is on the body or clothing, it should be removed before performing Salaah. For Najasah ghalizah, a size of a dirham is excused. For Najasah khafifah, an amount of up to a quarter of the clothes or limb is excused (it is always better to clean the clothes or body)

A

Substitute for the imam.
If an imam breaks his wudu during Salah, he should gently pull someone from the first row to come forward.

1. Tasbih (saying ONLY subhanAllah) for men
2. clapping the back of the hand, for women.

imam has to say 3 short or 1 long verse of the Qur’an for it to be valid

A

Hajj means ‘to advance’. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. Muslims go to Makkah to perform pilgrimage.

  6. Cannot wear sewn garments like shirts, socks, etc.
    Women:
  7. Cannot cover their faces during ihram. if they veil themselves from others, the clothing must not touch their face

Explain Sa’y

A

This is the act of walking seven times between the two famous mountains (Safa and Marwah). Going from one mountain (Safa) to another (Marwah) is one round and returning is another.
There are some green lighrts in between. Men should jog while women should walk.
