stratum corneum
Top layer of skin (usually dead skin)

Stratum basale. Permanent alterations come from damaging the basal layer.
stratum lucid?
in between the top layer stratum corneum and stratum granulosum; clear and mean to seperate the two
Stratum basale?
layer before the dermis; once affected it leads to permanent scars
stratum lucidum
Clear layer inbetween the stratum cornelum and stratum granulosum.
