What are the indications for fine needle aspiration? (x3)

A
  • A biopsy on a lump or a tissue mass when its nature is in question
  • For known tumours, the biopsy is performed to assess the effect of treatment
  • Aspiration of fluid for sampling or therapeutically e.g., breast cysts/abscess
