They continue to develop throughout childhood and into school age

Newborns can grasp fingers/ toes
3-6 months: grasp objects, shake and bang toys
6-12 months: pincer grasp
1-2 years: Stack blocks, draw lines, snip with scissors
3-4 years: Copy lines and shapes, write letters, and cut out simple shapes
5 years: can draw, paint and colour, button and unbutton
6 years: expected to write effectively, tie shoelaces and manipulate objects with ease
