- Set precedent of British Colonialism in North America
- Continues to be evoked by First Nations leaders 250 years later

A
- 1756 to 1763
- First global war
- Started because both the French and British claimed Ohio Valley
- Early in the war, the French (aided by Canadian militia and Aboriginal allies) defeated several British attacks and captured a number of British forts.
- The victory gave Canada to Britain

- Loyalists: People who still liked British empire after American Revolution
- Upper and Lower Canada were divided in who wanted to to participate in the war
- An end to the Napoleonic Wars from 1793 to 1815

- Unpaid labor and volunteering contributed majorly to the war
- After women already had been running the organization, Ottawa gave it a name
- 2 provinces created daycare systems to help
- 50k women served in non-combative positions

- Bernardo originally wanted to set up a trade school for orphaned children.
