Elements of Consent (FRIES)
Freely given - it is a choice that you make without pressure, manipulation, or under the influence
Reversible - consent is reversible, change their mind on what they feel like doing, even if they have done it before. At any point, you can withdraw
Informed - only consent if you have the full story (ex: saying they will use a condom but when having sex, they decide not to use one)
Enthusiastic - when it comes to sex, you should only do stuff you want to do, not what you’re expected to do
Specific - saying yes to one thing does not mean you said yes to other things (ex: making out does not mean it automatically leads to sex)
sexual assault
any violence or non consensual act involving physical contact of a sexual nature
sexual coercion
when someone pressures, uses drugs or alcohol, or forces sexual contact with a person against his/her/their will
