What is Totalitarianism?
System of rule that seeks control of all aspects of public activity (political, economic and social); it controls all institutional and private arrangements.
What is war?
Armed conflict by different groups in a nation or between countries by land, sea, or air.
What is guerrila?
Irregular small group of soldiers that fight independently and harasses the enemy.
What is holocaust?
Destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war.
What is genocide?
Deliberate killing of a particular racial, political, ethnic or cultural group with the purpose of the total destruction of the group.
What is Dirty War?
A war with secret police (similar to police) that fights “under the water” revolutionary and terrorist insurgents.
What is a revolution?
Social movement (usually violent) to overthrow a government to favor a new system or government.
What is dictatorship?
Form of government ruled by an individual who doesn’t have restrictions by a constitution or laws. It doesn’t allow elections.
What is communism?
Economic and social system in which all (or nearly all) property and resources are collectively owned by a classless society and not by individual citizens.
What is Cold War?
Hostile situation between countries over ideological differences that lead to threats of military action without breaking the diplomatic relations.
What is Society?
Groups or communities of people living together in a particular country with shared laws, traditions, and values.
What is Civil Society?
The social sphere in which voluntary groups coexist and use their freedom of speech, independent judgment combined with their common likes, etc.
What is Militarism?
The action or cause of military methods, forces and opinions with the ojective of gaining power, strength or an strategic posture according their goals.
What is Self-determination?
The free right of choosing the fate of yourself or of the government that will rule you (talking about of the sum up self-determination of citizens).
What is the League of Nations?
International organization with the objective of promoting peace and cooperation between countries after WW1 (in 1920). It was disolved in 1946 and replaced by the United Nations after it’s powerless actions.
