A

Conspiratory Alliance between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy tat agreed to protect themselves if war broke out. It was from 1882 to 1914.

A

Informal agreement between Russia (before it had a revolution in the State), France, and Great Britain. It was from 1894 to 1907 to balance the power of the Triple Alliance. It ended when Russia went out of war.

A

Feeling that gives cultural identity to a group of people base in their beliefs, language and superior feeling relationated to other States. It makes them proud of their country.

A

Ideas that are false, exxagerated or half-truth to manipulate the public opinión into going against or for a cause. It applied in WW1 by helping the causes of war and by applying the indirect order of YOU helping their cause (a political leader,their government, their reasons for war, etc.).

What is NATO?

A

Organization made in 1949 which would provide mutual help between those countries if one of them was attacked.Mostly all the countries that participated in the treaty of NATO were: United States, United Kingdom, West Germany (in 1955), Italy, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, France and Spain.

What is Warsaw Pact?

A

It was a pact created in 1955 that putted the Soviet Union in total control of the member states armies. It was a response for NATO which they saw as menace when they invited Western Germany.

A

Plan that provided help to minor countries that were affected by the war with the objective of making them stronger so they wouldn’t turn into communism.

A

Mutual Assurance Destruction was a theory that states the total destruction if the superpowers go into fight because of the nuclear power both had in that specific moment. It surged during Cold War.

What is Mirror Policy?

A

Also known as the Nuclear Deterrence Policy, it was a policy that consisted of action and reaction. Also it is when one country get something and his rival get the same, competition between them. An example of this mirror policy was the first man in the moon where USSR and USA competed to have the technology to achieve it. One the things USA did was to develop the technology to deliver different types of nuclear weapons.

A

The term was used in the Cold War as an explanation of the antagonism of the states. Its the distribution of power among the countries supporting USA and the Soviet Union.
