What is the Function of the CMTNL?
The board governs the college and may exercise in the name on behalf of the college and its powers
The college is to protect the public’s interest and safety
What is the role of the Registrar?
- Secretary to the college

- Maintain register of RMT’s (names, address)
- Collect fees
Who elects the Registrar?
- The board may elect a director as registrar

What is requirement to maintain active License?
Maintain 30 CEU credit in 3 years Category A (primary) = 20 credit from this section and Category B (Secondary) = 10 credit from this section
What is the Complaints Process Procedure?
(Complaints Authorization Committee- CAC)
- The board appoints 3 members of the board (1 represents public) to make up complaints committee (registrar not eligible)
CAC can:
1) Refer back to registrar for investigation
2) Conduct investigation
3) Require respondent to appear before CAC
If allegation becomes complaint they can:
1) Council or Caution respondent
2) File complaint against respondent refer back to disciplinary panel
3) Suspend or Restrict or investigate respondent practice
What makes up the Disciplinary Panel?
- 10 RMT’s (1 which will be chairperson) who are not directors of board
- 3 Public members are appointed by Minister of Health
What are requirements to renew registration as RMT?
1) Good standing with board
2) Submits application for renewal of license
3) Pays required fees
4) Has required liability insurance
5) Proof of membership of association (NLMTA)
6) Holds license
7) Min 500 clinic hours in 3 year
8) Graduated from MT program in past 2 years
9) Completed program of review (training) within 12 months
