How do emotions affect your driving ability?
Emotional highs and lows can cause you to get lost in thinking about how you feel and not pay attention to the driving task.
How can you overcome fatigue before you drive and while you drive?
Before:
- get plenty of rest
- avoid heavy and fatty foods
- do not drink alcoholic beverages
While:

- turn on the radio
- stop regularly
List 10 places where passing is not allowed.
- do not pass or no passing zone

- where a school bus has stopped to unload or discharge passengers
- anywhere there is a solid yellow line
- in any type of construction zone
List 4 major types of skids and explain what causes each one.
- Braking Skid: occurs when you apply the breaks too hard that the front tires lose traction
- Power Skid: occurs when you suddenly press on the accelerator too hard
- Cornering Skid: occurs when all 4 tires lose traction at the same time
- Blowout Skid: occurs when tires suddenly goes flat
List natural laws that affect braking distance. Explain what way they influence stopping distance.
Inertia: When you drive, everything in the vehicle has inertia. When you brake hard, everything will want to keep moving forward. This is why we wear safety belts
Friction: Without friction, it would be very difficult for the tires to “stick” to the road and help us drive
Momentum: All objects have momentum, and the faster your vehicle is traveling, the worse it would fare in a collision
Kinetic Energy: Energy in motion; the more kinetic energy an object has the more space is needed to come to a complete stop
Gravity: the force that pulls objects down which helps slow or accelerate your vehicle on inclines
List 3 factors that affect braking distance.
- Tire pressure
- tire condition
- rain, ice and snow, and road conditions
How do we divide traffic signs by its colors?
Red: Regulatory sign
Yellow: Warning sign
Green: Guide
Blue: Service
Brown: Recreation signs
List 5 major types of car insurance. Explain what each type of damages are covered by each.
Liability insurance: Proof that you will be financially responsible if you cause damage to property or injure other people
Collision insurance: Pays for damage to your vehicle even if you are to blame in a crash or are involved with an uninsured driver
Comprehensive Insurance: Pays for veichle damage that is caused by anything but a colision
Medical payment insurance: Medical payment insurance movers medical, hospital, or funeral costs regardless of who is at fault
uninsured motorist: protects you if you’re in an accident with an at-fault driver who doesn’t carry liability insurance
total stopping distance
The total distance needed for your vehicle to come to a complete stop
the basic speed law
Always drive at a speed that is reasonable and proper for existing conditions
vehicle registration
Who owns the vehicle. Receives a certificate and one or two licence plates
certificate of title
a legal document issued by a government agency that indicates proof of ownership
the right of way rule
