  • He ran a deaf kid’s hockey camp to increase self-esteem of deaf kids.
  • Today, he is an inspirational speaker in Canada.

  • It was hard to get through school – had to fight for an interpreter in her classes
  • Graduated SUNY in 1990
  • Created the first deaf theatre school of color – Onyx Theatre in New York City
  • “Onyx is a black stone – the black represents people of color and the stone represents deafness”
  • Alive and well today – helps at MSSD in the Performing Arts Program
