- Diagnosed with genetic disorder at three and has been loosing hearing throughout the course of his life.
- 1st hard of hearing NHL player.
- Father and all four brothers have same disorder and are deaf.
- Played in the NHL from 1988-1997 when he was in a car accident which forced him to retire.
- He ran a deaf kid’s hockey camp to increase self-esteem of deaf kids.
- Today, he is an inspirational speaker in Canada.

- Her and her plane were inducted into the South Dakota -Hall of Fame

- He established the National Theater for Deaf
- he attended Gallaudet university and won an award called the Teagarden award for Creativity Poetry in his senior year
- He was into the art of mime after he went to Paris to study under an internationally known mime named Marcel Marceau
- he also taught theater in a school for deaf in California.
- After he established the National Theater for the Deaf he left his career in teaching in California for Connecticut to perform
- He is now retired 86 year old man

- Created the first deaf theatre school of color – Onyx Theatre in New York City
- “Onyx is a black stone – the black represents people of color and the stone represents deafness”
- Alive and well today – helps at MSSD in the Performing Arts Program
