First approach, Since race is socially constructed that is not a fundamental category for analysis. Its not real, so it is not important

Second form, acknowledge that race is socially constructed, however they would attempt to racialize different studies to make it seem that race is the independent variable in these cases. Racial category is the driving force.

What is abstract liberalism?
Abstract liberalism provides whites with the means to frame race-related issues in a liberal way in order to appear “reasonable” and “moral”, while at the same time reject and deny other practical approaches to deal with racial inequalities.
What’s an example of abstract liberalism?
Saying affirmative action is not equal because it gives preference to people of color without the acknowledgment that people of color are under represented in those activities.
