A

/t/ is longer b/w the burst and the offset; /p/ goes into the vowel faster after the burst;

1 = /t/

2 = /p/

/r/ F2 has steeper peak into vowel; F3 of /l/ drops into vowel, which F3 of /r/ rises into vowel

how does lip rounding affect formants on a spectrogram?

A

causes them to be lower; e.g. even though /ɑ/ is lower on the vowel space than /ɔ/, /ɔ/ will have a lower F1 and F2 usually b/c it also has lip rounding
