Final Exam Flashcards
What lens and reflector does a “fresnel” use?
Fresnel lens; Spherical reflector
What lens and reflector does an “ERS” use?
Plano convex lens; Ellipsoidal reflector
What lens and reflector does a “PAR” use?
Parabolic aluminized reflector
What does the “plaster line” divide?
The audience from the proscenium
What are the “primary colors of light”?
Red, Green, Blue
What are the “secondary colors of light”?
Cyan, Magenta, Yellow
What is “additive color mixing”?
Two or more lights with wavelengths mixing, adding together
What is “subtractive color mixing”?
Only the wavelengths that the gels have in common are going to pass through, all the other wavelengths are going to be subtracted out
What is “kelvin temperature”?
In lighting it is a measurement of how blue, cold, or warm a lamp is. The higher the temperature, the bluer the light.
What is “amber drift”?
The color temperature lowered due to the intensity of a light
What does a “CTB gel” do?
Color Towards/Temperature Blue; Increase in Kelvin temperature
What does a “CTO gel” do?
Color Towards/Temperature Orange; Decrease in Kelvin temperature
What is a “patch screen”?
Assigning channels to dimmers
What are two distinct types of automated lighting fixtures?
- Fill light; wash light, Fresnel
- Spot light; ERS, Key
