A dark line down the center of the abdomen during pregnancy that is a normal finding.
A patient at 20 weeks gestation calls complaining of pink vaginal discharge. What would you do?
Tell the patient to come in immediately and call the doctor to come in to see them.
What would you tell a patient who calls to complain of scant bleeding after having a pelvic exam?
This is to be expected. The cervix is very vascular and an exam might cause slight bleeding. Come in right away if the bleeding does not stop, becomes bright red, or the amount of bleeding increases.
Where would you expect the fundus to be 2 days postpartum? How would you expect it to feel? Where should it be?
2 FBs below the umbilicus, firm and palpable, midline.
What would you do if a mother has a temperature of 100.4 immediately following delivery of the infant?
Continue to monitor the mother’s vital signs. A slightly elevated temperature is normal at this stage of recovery.
