Naturally orthodox, incapable of thinking a bad thought
Groupthink
Occurs when individuals prioritize the cohesiveness and consensus of the group over their own independent thinking, and as a result, they are unwilling to challenge or question the ideas of the group.
Abolitionism
Movement to end slave trade and liberate enslaved people in Western Europe and the Americas
Manumission
Act of freeing enslaved people by their enslaver
The Middle Passage
Refers to the journey that people who had been enslaved were forced to take from Africa to America (crossing the Atlantic)

Simile
Figure of speech that describes something by comparing it to something else with the words “like” or “as”
