  • Once focus is determined potential goals and objectives are formulated
  • Selection of 5 or fewer goals is ideal to improve focus
  • Don’t want to have too many goals for an organization because then they’re harder to meet
  • Ongoing review and periodic assessment of a plans success are necessary

- Mary said: but it depends on setting - phys dys is line of sight, but once we graduate - we don’t need any supervision (*Mary told me students often get this wrong, and Brenee posted up on the 1st page that this is an exam question).   • The law provides numerous rights and protections that make health coverage more fair and easy to understand, along with subsidies (through “premium tax credits” and “cost-sharing reductions”) to make it more affordable.
  • The law also expands the Medicaid program to cover more people with low incomes.

Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act

A
  • A federal law that may allow you to temporarily keep health coverage after your employment ends, you lose coverage as a dependent of the covered employee, or another qualifying event.
  • If you elect COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) coverage, you pay 100% of the premiums, including the share the employer used to pay, plus a small administrative fee.
  • This act classifies occupational therapy as a qualifying service under the home health benefit and also identifies comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facilities as providers under Medicare Part B.

  • This was a landmark law in changing the way in which society viewed people with disabilities
  • The 1st comprehensive civil rights law for individuals with disabilities
  • This act has affected OT and its clients by requiring attention to accessibility of facilities and programs, by promoting accommodations to enable employment, and by increasing supports for independent living
