Q

6-8. Discuss the three-destination doctrine explaining what it is, and explain how they attempt to use these scriptures to “prove” their belief (2 Pet. 3:12-14 & Rev. 22:10-12).

A

Holy
Righteous
Wicked
It’s the belief that there is a third place to go, not just heaven and hell. They say the new heaven and new earth in 2 Pet. is talking about two different places for the holy and righteous to go. They make a distinction between the holy and righteous in Rev. and say they’ll be judged to different places.

Q

9-11. Explain why three-destination believers are misreading these two sets of verses, and use Scripture to refute their belief.

A

In 2 Pet. “Wherein dwelt righteousness” refers to both new heaven & new earth. There is no distinction between the two regarding where righteousness dwells. Rev. It’s using two different ways to talk about the people going to heaven and hell. (holy & righteous, filthy & unjust) there are four terms used not three. There is no in-between in the scripture.
Titus 2, Gal. 1:8-9.
