Compare two of the interactive works, Vito Accanci’s following piece and Yoko Ono’s wish tree. Describe the roles of the artists, the viewer, and the environment in each piece. What did each artist do? What did the Viewers in each artwork? what does each artwork look like? What does this comparison reveal to you about these artworks that you had not considered before making it?

A

Vito Acconci’s role in the artwork was following the viewers and documenting them. In the Wish Tree Ono is not in the artwork, but does provide materials and instructions for the piece. The viewers in the following piece are witnessing it and in the wish tree they are interacting with it. The environment in the Following piece is anywhere the person he is following goes while in the wish tree they have to involve themselves. The following is conceptual while the wish tree is the photos are just evidence
