Changes in China after WWII
After WWII the communists, under the lead of Mao Zedong and the Nationalists, under the lead of Chiang Kai-shek and financial aid from the US, went into a civil war. The communists won despite US aid to the nationalists and the nationalists were forced to flee and establish Taiwan. This effected Korea by further supporting the communist leader Kim II Sung of North Korea because China wanted that communist border, further establishing the split of Korea.
