What is Paul’s reason for writing Colossians?
The people at Colossae believed the message of Christ, but treated it as just one of many beliefs. Paul writes to clarify that Christ is the one who created the world, sustains the world, and came to save the world. Christ is NOT one of many. He is the centerpiece of God’s revelation.
Ephesians is a circular letter. What does this mean?
It was written to more than just the church in Ephesus. It was written to a more general audience.

What was Paul’s purpose for writing Philemon?
Philemon is a Christian slaveowner. Onesimus is his slave who ran away and went to Paul. Paul writes his letter to Phliemon telling him and Onesimus to make things right with each other. He asks Philemon to receive him a “beloved brother” (V. 16). Paul goes on to say that he will pay for anything Onesimus owes Philemon.
