Camera techniques

A
  • Medium shot - half person’s body to show body language
  • Establishing shot - Shows setting
  • Birds eye shot - From a hieght, looking downwards. Makes subject look small
  • Low angle shot - Camera looks up + makes subject look big, powerful/dominent
  • Close up - Highlights real emotion
  • Long shot - Zooms out to show subject from head to toe
  • POV - Shows view from someones position

  • High key - Breifly lit. Depending on context associated with positivity
  • Low key - Emphasis on shade = effect is often dark + suspemseful
  • Backlighting - Light comes from behing subject, creates shadow, mysterious
