Telephoto
The longest length of all
Zoom Shot
The ability to shorten or lengthen a visual from wide to long or vice versa without the need to change the camera location.
Crane Shot or boom shot
Taken when the camera as a whole is moved either up or down or laterally.
Swish Pan
The camera is purposely planned in either direction, right, left or at a very fast pase, creating the impression of a fast moving horizontal blurring of images across the screen
Tracking shot or dolly shot
A shot where the entire camera is moved forward backward or laterally or circularly or irregular pattern
Compound Camera Movements
A movement executed by the camera, either on a dolly or hand held which combines only two or more simple movements.
Sequesnce
A self contained group of sequential scenes.
Set
Anywhere a shot is being taken or filmed whether real or constructed, the site location where a film is being shot.
Setting
The local or narrative action
Low angle camera
camera looks positioned low below the eye line
High angle camera
Camera looks down at an object
Field of vision
In common with still photography and to some degree, painting cinematography renders 3D reality in 2D
Fish eye Lens
The globular construction of a stereotypical fish eye, round and bulging. extremely wide in field of vision. Optical distortion.
Wide eye Lens
Lens having a focal length of 14-20mm. wide field of vision
Normal Lens
Most commonly used. Renders perspective, realistically.
