18
Q

What are the 2 types of compression called?

A

Lossy compression and lossless compression

19
Q

What are the key differences between lossy and lossless compression?

A

With lossy compression you lose some quality on your video and data but on lossless you reduce file size with no loss of quality. The negative of lossy is that you loose the original quality

20
Q

Explain why we use file compression.

A

We use file compression because:
Less storage space required for files
Faster download and uploads
Smaller file attachments for emailing
Coping with slow links when streaming
Saving a lot of storage- we can save much more storage on our hard drive. Many applications have a size limit to your exports.

21
Q

What is normal test data?

A

Typical and sensible data that a computer should be able to processed by a computer

22
Q

What is abnormal data?

A

Abnormal data is test data that falls outside of what is acceptable and should be rejected by the system.

23
Q

What is extreme data?

A

Extreme test data is the maximum and minimum values of normal data that are accepted by the system.

24
Q

Give 2 error messages which may come up when attempting to save work.

A
  • “Error: Unable to save data. Please check your internet connection and try again.”
  • “Error: Insufficient disk space. Unable to save data. Please free up disk space and try again.”
