What is Figure Of Speech?
A figure of speech expressed an idea, thought or image with words which carry meanings beyond their literal ones.
What is a simile !
It’s an indirect comparison of two things usually employing the words ‘like’ or ‘as’.e.g my heart is like an apple tree.
What is a metaphor ?
It’s an indirect comparison of two things without the use of ‘like’ or ‘as’ e.gAnf merry larks are ploughman’s clock.
What is a Hyperbole ?
This is the use of exaggeration or overstatement to make a point. It may be used for emphasis for humor, or for poetic intensity.
What is Personification?
This is another type of comparison that treats objects or things as if they were capable of the actions and feelings of people.
What is irony
This is an expression in which the authors meaning is quite different (often the opposite) from what is literally said.
