Allusion
a reference in literature to famous person, place or event

a statement of truth or opinion expressed in a concise and witty manner
Epithet
a metaphor that describes a place , a thing or a person in such a way that gives readers a richer , deeper meaning and/or a more vivid description.
Euphemism
substituting a mild , indirect, or vague term for once considered harsh , blunt or offensive.
hyperbole
an exaggeration or over statement
idiom
an expression that should not be interpreted literally, it means figurative and means quite different from the literal meaning of the phrases
irony
when the opposite of what is expected or said happens
malapropism
a use of incorrect word in place of similar founding word that results in a nonsensical and humorous expressions
metaphor
a comparison that does not “like” or “as”
oxymoron
is a figure speech in which two opposite ideas are joined to create an affects
paradox
is statement that appears to be self-contrdictory or silly but my include a latent truth
personification
giving an animal, objected or person a chararistics or personality
pun
words with a double meaning
smile
a comparison using “like”, “as”, “so” “than” or words such as “resemble” or “compare”
