FIGO staging Flashcards
Cervix Stage 1
Carcinoma strictly confined to the cervix
Cervix Stage 1A
Invasive carcinoma diagnosed only by microscopy - max depth of invasion of <5mm
Cervix Stage 1A1
Depth of invasion - measured stromal invasion of less than 3mm
Cervix Stage 1A2
Depth of invasion - measured stromal invasion of equal or more than 3mm but less than 5mm
Cervix Stage 1B
Invasive carcinoma with measured deepest invasion equal or greater than 5mm but lesion limited to cervix
Cervix Stage 1B1
Invasive carcinoma with measured deepest invasion equal or greater than 5mm but less than 2cm in greatest dimension
Cervix Stage 1B2
Invasive carcinoma with measured deepest invasion equal or greater than 5mm but equal or greater than 2cm in greatest dimension but less than 4cm
Cervix Stage 1B3
Invasive carcinoma with measured deepest invasion equal or greater than 5mm but equal or greater than 4cm
Cervix Stage II
Carcinoma invades beyond the uterus, but has not extended onto the lower third of the vagina or to the pelvic side wall
Cervix Stage IIA
Involvement limited to the upper two thirds of the vagina without parametrial involvement
Cervix Stage IIA1
Invasive carcinoma less than 4cm in the greatest dimension
Cervix Stage IIA2
Invasive carcinoma equal to or greater than 4cm in the greatest dimension
Cervix Stage III
Carcinoma involves the lower third of the vagina and/or extends to the pelvic wall and/or causes hydronephrosis or nonfunctioning kidney and/or involves pelvic or para-aortic LN
Cervix Stage IIIA
Carcinoma involves the lower third of the vagina with
no extension to the pelvic wall
Cervix Stage IIIB
Extension to the pelvic wall and and/or causes
hydronephrosis or non-functioning kidney
Cervix Stage IIIC
Involvement of pelvic and/or para-aortic lymph nodes,
irrespective of tumour size and extent (with r and p
notations)
Cervix Stage IIIC1
Pelvic lymph node metastasis only
Cervix Stage IIIC2
Para-aortic lymph node metastasis
Cervix Stage IV
The carcinoma has extended beyond the true pelvis or has involved (biopsy proven) the mucosa of the bladder or rectum (A bullous oedema as such does not permit the case to be allotted to stage IV)
Cervix Stage IVA
Spread to adjacent pelvic organs
Cervix Stage IVB
Spread to distant organs
