Fields Flashcards
1
Q
Model Theory
A
A general theory of the interpretation of axiomatic set theory. Concerned with the mathematical structures that obey the axions of a system, called the “models” of that system. Talks about groups, fields, and graphs.
2
Q
Type Theory
A
A type is a collection of objects having a similar structure. Objects are characterized by their type, not just the set they belong to. Some objects are more primitive or basic than others. Was originally proposed to free set theory from paradoxes such as “What is the set that does not belong to itself?”
3
