Q

For what can you use the distance result of the 6MWT?

A

-> As a guide for walking prescription for patient w/ chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (e.g : COPD)

actual 6MWT speed = actual6MWT/100 (en km/h)

Q

Describe the Gait speed test

A

It’s use to calculate the gait speed = distance (m) / time.
On a distance of 4 meters + 2 m of acc zone & 2 m of deceleration zone, we recored the speed only during the 4m in between.
x3 repetitions => calculate average

Q

How can you interpret the result of the Gait speed test?

(GST)

A

We calculate the gait speed test & then according to a table this distance in m/s “indicates” the level of fitness/mobility/Health & risk of hospitalisation, diseases or death in the years comming.

Q

Can you explain the Time up & go test?

(TUG)

A

x2 times, best result is used

Q

Can you explain the shuttle walk test?

A

It’s an exercise test using a field walking test.
Need to walk around 2 cones set 9m apart (final d=10m) in time to a set of auditory beeps.
Walk as long as they can, until too breathless or can’t keep up w/ beeps.
