A
  • Full blood count
  • blood cultures
  • C reactive protein
  • Urine testing for urinary tract infection
  • Chest X-ray only if respiratory signs are present
  • Stool culture (if diarrhoea)

Temp above 38/ Below 36
(check 3 times in a 10 min period)

IWOB/Grunting/Struggling to speak
High RR
High HR

Not feeding/drinking
Black/green/bloody vomit

Sunken fontanelles
Sunken eyes

A
  1. Adminster O2
  2. Take bood and blood cultures
  3. Give IV antibioitics
  4. Give IV fluids
  5. Check lactate (less than 2mmol needed)
  6. Measure urine output
