which medium vessel vasculitis affects in paeds mainly affects children <5yrs of age, especially coronary arteries? how is it diagnosed?
A
Kawasaki’s.
Dx requires fever for at least 5 days, plus 4/5 of:
1. conjunctivitis: bilateral, non-purulent
2. mucous membrane changes: erythema of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa with strawberry tongue and dry, cracked lips
3. cervical lymphadenopathy
4. polymorphous rash
5. peripheral changes: oedema and erythema of the hands and feet; acute perineal desquamation or late/delayed peripheral periungual desquamation
