Describe Feudalism and why it was so great.
Feudalism is when a king gives land to someone in exchange for loyalty. It was important because it established the social hiearchy.
What were the responsibilities of each group in the feudal system?
Kings-ruled and gave land to lords
Lords-had land and ordered around knights
Knights-protected serfs
Serfs-worked
What did it mean to be legally tied to the land?
It means it was hereditary and he had to follow the will of his landlords.
Why was the feudal system developed, and who benefitted the most and least from this system?
It was created to make life more convenient. Kings benefited the most and serfs benefited the least.
Which relationships were most central to feudalism?
Lords and kings because feudalism was created by kings giving lords land.
