What is Ramadan?
The Islamic holy month of fasting.
When does Ramadan take place and why?
Ramadan falls in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and is when Mohammed (PBUH) received the first verses of the Qur’an
Why do Muslims fast?
To clear their minds and reflect on the teaches of the qur’an
What is eid?
The end of the fasting period of Ramadan.
What time of day do Muslims fast
From the break of dawn to sunset.
Why do Muslims travel to Mecca?
To remind them of the cycles of life, from beginning to end.
Why do all pilgrims dress the same?
To remind them that in Allah’s eyes they are all equal.
What will pilgrims do at the ka’bah
They will circle it seven times counter-clockwise, chanting prayers and asking allah’s forgiveness.
